Tuesday 1st June
AM Attended Peer Supervision meeting.
PM I planned and prepared for a Dosh Donors meeting that I am delivering to a group of young people on Thursday. I printed the application forms for to apply for funding from the Youth Opportunity Fund (YOF) from the Wakies World web site City Limits and I had to plan how I was going to deliver the meeting. I had to make the session interesting so the young people could think of lots of ideas on what activities they would like to do as a group. Activities that would be fun and exciting and they would receive accreditation at the end.
Wednesday 2nd June
AM I had a keyworker session with a young person this afternoon. She had not completed all of her weekly tasks; she had ‘forgotten’ to attend a CV workshop that she was booked on. I had to tell her that she would not be getting paid this week.
PM This afternoon a colleague and I delivered an information session to the young people that want to join the AA project. My colleague took charge of the first part which was the information side and explained the background of AA. Explaining that AA offers a flexible programme with a maximum period of 20 weeks, with different hours of involvement each week taking a small steps approach based on the individuals goals and expectations. There is an individual plan created for each individual and is based on something for something. The YP and KW agree on an action plan of activities for the week and the YP completes this action plan and they receive £30. It was explained how AA can help by the use of workshops, enhanced activities, volunteering, work placements and ideas of their own. The three week rule was explained about three authorised unauthorised absence procedure. The emphasis is that the AA supports the YP work towards achieving their goals and reaching full potential whilst having fun.
I took charge of the second part which is the sign up and went through the paper work explaining the confidentiality agreement, YP involvement consent form, bank account details and assessment that when completed helps the YP identify areas that they may need support with. An action plan is started where upon the YP states their goals. A Respect Charter is discussed; this covers the behaviour that is expected from the YP whilst they are on the AA programme. There is also an exit sheet in the pack and this will be filled in when the YP has left the project and has moved on to an intended EET outcome. An evaluation sheet is the last piece of paper work and this gives the YP chance to say how the session was delivered.
Thursday 3rd June
AM I set aside some time and I booked a room for two hours where I intended to finish some work that I needed to complete. I then had my weekly supervision.
PM This afternoon I delivered the Dosh Donors group at City Limits the positive outcome of this session was on me. I needed to get the group working together on ideas on what group activities they would be interested in and also other YP that would be joining in these activities. I had to ensure that they had fun in the process. A lot of good suggestions were put forward and the application forms were filled in. It is now the YP task to go away and research these activities and come back to the next session with places where these activities can take place and the price that each activity would cost. The application forms can then be completed and submitted to the YOF.
